Armenian jazz queen Tatevik Hovhannisyan (Datevik Hovanesian) will give concerts in Armenia from June 28 to July 4 at the initiative of the “Azg Production” Company.

During the concerts to be held in different cities, including Yerevan, Gyumri and Stepanakert, Tatevik Hovhannisyan will perform American, Brazilian and Armenian jazz compositions.

“I didn’t leave Armenia to become a star, I left to learn more,” she told reporters in Yerevan.

“Everyone survives a cultural shock after leaving. We all have roots, and it’s never easy to cut the roots and plant in a different soil. A correct environment is necessary in order to feed from that soil,” the singer said.

Speaking about Yerevan past and present, Tatevik Hovhannisyan said she loves the Yerevan that is closer to her history, her biography, that keeps her childhood memories.
