Aliyev thanks Nazarbayev for support at Eurasian summit
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has thanked his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev for “supporting Baku’s position at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in connection with Armenia’s membership in the Customs Union.”
Aliyev expressed his gratitude on the margins of the summit of Turkic-speaking countries being held in Bodrum, Turkey, these days, Azerbaijani media report.
During the Eurasian summit in Astana on May 29, Nazarbayev read out a letter addressed by Aliyev to all the three leaders of the current Customs Union, saying that Armenia should be admitted to the future Eurasian Union only within its United Nations-recognized borders, i.e. without Nagorno-Karabakh.
