The mine blast in Turkey has affected Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s rating, expert of Turkish studies Andranik Ispiryan told reporters today. Despite this, Erdogan has good chances to win in the forthcoming elections, he said.

Speaking about Erdogan’s statement on the eve of 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the expert said: “If the world accepted it as an apology, no one inside Turkey approved the address expect for Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is thought to be the author of the statement.”

The meeting of the PM Erdogan and FM Davutoglu with the Armenian Deputy Patriarch Aram Ateshyan also created a wrong impression among the society.

Andranik Ispiryan does not expect any progress in the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations. He reminded that Turkey has a concrete precondition on the issue.
