Armenian, Russian Presidents meet in Moscow

President Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

The presidents of the two countries discussed a broad range of issues pertaining to the Armenian-Russian cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, outlined further works aimed at reinforcing and advancing the relations between the two strategic partner countries.

“Honorable Serzh Azatich, let me once again welcome you in Moscow, thank you for arriving on the eve of May 9 and once again congratulate you and the entire Armenian people on the occasion of coming Victory day.

Since I visited Armenia, a great work has been done to follow the arrangements made during my visit. I am glad for the opportunity to correct the clock with you, see what else we can do and where we should pick up the work speed.

In any case, I am glad to note that Russia remains as Armenia’s leading trade and commercial partner: last year our trade circulation grew by almost 11 percents (10.6 percents) as compared with the previous year. This year, the positive dynamics of trade circulation has remained the same and likewise, Russia is the leading investor in the Armenian economy,” said RF President Vladimir Putin at the meeting with President Serzh Sargsyan.

Thanking the RF President for his invitation to visit Moscow in the framework of the meeting of the CSTO member-states’ leaders and for the opportunity to discuss the vital issues of the Armenian-Russian bilateral relations, President Serzh Sargsyan congratulated his colleague and the Russian people on the occasion of Great Victory.

“I am glad that the Armenian-Russian strategic relations and allied partnership continue to develop dynamically. From now on, we will make utmost efforts at enhancing those relations.

Of course, the arrangements made during your state visit and on September 3 in Moscow enriched our agenda. I am sure that following those arrangements in all sectors – foreign policy, technical military, economic – gives us a new chance for close cooperation. We are ready to work intensively. I think this very fact corresponds to the historic traditions of friendship between our peoples and to our peoples’ will and that is why we are ready. I am glad for being in Moscow today. Thank you for your invitation and for the conversation we have already had,” said President Serzh Sargsyan at the meeting with the RF President.
