Eurovision 2014 opening ceremony in Copenhagen

The official opening ceremony for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 was held Sunday evening at Copenhagen’s City Hall with all the representatives from the  37 participating countries in attendance.

The ceremony began with a speech from Copenhagen’s mayor, Frank Jensen, and Emmelie de Forest, the 2013 winner of the competition and the first person to arrive on the red carpet.

“I’m very happy that people like my sympho dub step song”, Aram from Armenia told Eurovision.tv as he walked on the red carpet. He also explained that MP3 represents his stage name as he is doing musical comedies in his country – Armenia.

The Eurovision song contest will take place in Copenhagen from May 6 to 10. Armenia’s Aram MP3 will open the first semi-final on May 6.
