President Serzh Sargsyan received today Tumo board member and Twitter Vice President Raffi Krikorian, who has arrived in Armenia at the invitation of the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, President’s Press Office reported.
President Sargsyan welcomed the guest and stressed the importance of the visit aimed at familiarizing with Tumo’s education program, supporting the development of the educational content in the field of programming, discussing the global trends and IT challenges with Armenian specialists of the sphere.
Noting that the development of the IT sector is among the priorities of Armenia’s economy, President Sargsyan stressed the importance of development of cooperation, exchange of experience and consulting with Armenian specialists.
Raffi Krikorian briefed the President on the results of his meetings in Armenia, which, he said, are inspiring, as there are encouraging examples that open wide perspectives for the development of Information Technologies in Armenia.
After the meeting Twitter’s Vice President took a selfie with President Serzh Sargsyan.
Tomorrow Krikorian will give a public lecture on Software Development Management titled “The things that turn out to matter” about lessons learned while running engineering at Twitter.
