Senior lieutenant Harutyun Safaryan, born in 1987, was fatally wounded while implementing a combat task in one of the military units situated in the southern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
He was killed in mine explosion on Monday, March 31, Press Service of the NKR Defense Army reports.
“The NKR Defense Ministry shares the grief of the heavy loss and expresses its support for Safaryan’s family, relatives and fellow servicemen,” the Ministry said in a statement.
Investigation is underway to establish details of the incident.
