Ukraine’s former PM Tymoshenko to run for presidency
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has declared her intention to run for the Ukrainian presidency, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Yes, I am planning to run,” she said at a press conference on Thursday.
Tymoshenko said that she intended to ask delegates at a Batkivschyna Party congress on March 29 to nominate her as a presidential candidate.
Early presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled for May 25.
