Renowned French singer Patricia Kaas is in Yerevan. Her concert at the Sports and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchian marked the start of the Francophonie Days in Armenia.
The “Kaas sings Piaf” concert was organized by the “Yerevan Perspectives” international music festival.
Speaking to reporters today, Patricia Kaas said this was her first visit to Armenia, but she had long dreamt of it.
The concert in Yerevan was a tribute to the memory of Edith Piaf. Kaas said she had always admired Piaf’s sensual songs and added that the experience in two films helped her present the program dedicated to the memory of the renowned singer. She not only sang, but also danced on the stage.
Kass confessed she was impressed by the warm and emotional welcome of the Armenian audience. She hopes to return to Armenia in a short while.
Armenia will hold more than 400 events within the Days of Francophonie that will continue through May 12.
