The rally at Freedom Square in Yerevan started with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of March 1 events six years ago.
“All of them died on their way towards peace, dignity and development of the country,” member of the Armenian National Congress Aram Manukyan said as he read out the names of the ten victims.
Speeches were offered by Vahagn Khachatryan, Levon Zurabyan, Lyudmila Sargsyan, Hrant Bagratyan, Stepan Demirchyan.
Speaking at the rally, leader of the Armenian National Congress Levon Ter-Petrosyan referred to the events of 2008 and the following developments, the domestic political situation, the future plans of the Congress.
Levon Ter-Petrosyan said, in particular, that accessison to the Customs Union is now an irreversible processand the political forces should take this reality into consideration.
