The Armenian community of Los Angeles held a rally in front of the Azerbaijani Consulate in memory of Lt. Gurgen Margaryan and in commemoration of the 26th anniversary of the Sumgait Massacre in Azerbaijan.
Representatives of the Armenian organizations said the rally aimed to inform the international community about the crimes of the past in anticipation of an adequate response.
The true friends of democracy – the United States and Europe – should stop their silent support to the inhuman actions of Azerbaijan, be it the massacre of Armenians in Sumgait and Baku, or the glorification of the murderer of an Armenian Officer, the demonstrators said. According to them, the silence of the international community is to be blamed for the continued aggressive behavior of Azerbaijan.
