The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that five members of an Azerbaijani family have requested political asylum in Armenia.
“Additional information will be provided by corresponding agencies,” the Ministry said in a Facebook post.
The Armenian daily Aravot reported earlier that an Azerbaijani family (the father, the mother and three children) on January 29 sought political asylum in Armenia at the Bagratashen checkpoint on the Armenian-Georgian border.
