Armenia, Italy interested in furthering bilateral ties

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia Giovanni Ricciulli.

The Prime Minister noted that the centuries-old friendly relations between Armenia and Italy rest on the rich historical and cultural ties, and voiced hope that the Ambassador will work to further the development of bilateral ties.

Ambassador Ricciulli assured he will do his best during the tenure in office to reinforce and deepen the bilateral relations in different spheres.

The interlocutors referred to the perspectives of cooperation in both bilateral format and within the framework of the European Union. PM Tigran Sargsyan hailed the EU’s technical and financial assistance to the reforms implemented in our country. He added that Armenia is interested in the expansion of relations with the EU and anticipates support form Italy on the issue.

The interlocutors stressed the importance of intensification of business ties and implementation of joint projects.
