A Memorial Service for the late Maestro Aram Gharabekian, who passed away on January 10 , was held on Saturday at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale, California. The conductor’s relatives, friends and fans were present at the ceremony.
Attending the service were a number of musicians who had the honor of working with the Maestro. Celebrated Armenian composer Tigran Mansurian offered his condolences to Gharabekyan’s family and the art-loving society. “A bright son of the Armenian nation, who launched a brilliant activity in the Armenian musical culture – devotedly and faithfully – passed to eternal life,” he said.
“He gifted a number of joyous moments to both the Armenian art-loving society and the audience in different music halls of the world. He popularized the Armenian culture and the achievements of Armenian music,” Mansurian said.
