Although there are some expectations among the social-political circles connected with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s visit to Armenia, it’s clear to everyone that no breakthrough in the Armenian-Turkish relations should be expected, Deputy Director of the Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan told a press conference today.

He did not rule out a meeting between Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers in Yerevan, but added, however, that it will not bring about any breakthrough.

According to the political scientist, Turkey has not made any step that would allow to hope for any developments. “Turkey is not ready for that,” he said.

Sergey Minasyan said the recent publications in the Armenian and Turkish press on Davutoglu’s visit are part of the information war.
