International Women’s Association of Yerevan to host Christmas Bazaar on December 14

BazaarThe International Women’s Association of Yerevan (IWAY) will host its annual International Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, 14 December 2013. The event will help IWAY raise funds to support an educational programme aimed at improving the lives of 50 children and their families from Stepanavan and nine surrounding villages of the Lori region.

“This year’s bazaar promises to have great things for people to buy, fabulous prizes for people to win, delicious foods for people to eat, and a wide variety of music and entertainment forpeople to enjoy while they are at the bazaar. IWAY is very pleased with the amazing support it has received from vendors, donors, musicians, and artists amongst others that has made this Bazaar possible,” stated Myrna Mugrditchian-Techler, president of IWAY.

This year’s attractions range from the traditional and very popular grand raffle to a wide variety of arts and handicrafts made by local artisans and craftsmen. The grand raffle will have many valuable prizes including airplane tickets, gym memberships, hotel accommodations, spa services, restaurant meals just to mention a few of the prizes. Entry into the raffle is possible through the purchase of a raffle ticket for the low price of 500 AMD. There will be a silent auction with fabulous items as well.

Currently there are 45 artisans and crafters and 10 food vendors with confirmed requests and a number more on the waiting list. Among the handicrafts being sold are those made by IWAY members specifically for the Christmas season.

A number of embassies will participate this year adding to the international flair of the bazaar. Currently 10 embassies have confirmed their participation: Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Russia, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
