Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has arrived in Armenia for a state visit, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial together with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and laid a wreath at the memorial to the Armenian Genocide victims.
At the Memory Alley President Putin watered the fir tree he planted during the official visit back in 2001.
Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan handed the copies of gold medals issued in Petrograd for the charity purpose of supporting the Armenian Genocide survivors of 1915.
The medal pictures the two-headed eagle of the Russian Empire and the Armenian traditional cross.
