“We will work jointly with the Minsk Group and do our best to achieve the solution of the Karabakh issue,” US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar said at the meeting with students of the Azerbaijani State Economic University.
“I believe one of the major problems is that both Azerbaijan and Armenia expect super powers, big states, especially US to make more efforts,” he said.
“If the solution of Nagorno Karabakh was easy, we would have done it. I believe that it can be solved only when the conflicting parties make firm decision to solve the problem once and for all,” he said.
Ambassador hopes that at the upcoming meeting the presidents will make a decision to solve the problem and reach agreement on certain issues.
Asked about the US financial aid to Nagorno Karabakh, Richard Morningstar said it is done in line with the mandate of the Congress and it is humanitarian aid.
