Armenian midfielder of Borussia Dortmund Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been included in the Bundesliga’s Team of the Week.
According to Goal.com, Mkhitaryan was the star at the Veltins Arena, as Schalke took on Borussia Dortmund, with Jurgen Klopp’s side claiming an excellent 3-1 victory over their rivals. The Armenian international was involved in all three goals of Dortmund.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is currently leading in the voting on Bundesliga’s official webpage and is likely to be voted as player of the week.
“Winning here is something very special,” said Borussia Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp after his side arrested a run of two consecutive Ruhr derby defeats by beating FC Schalke 04.
“It’s been a perfect week for us and today was a very important result. I’m delighted for the team and especially for the fans, who have played their part. It’s been a tough week and to come away with three wins is great. Now we need to continue our momentum,” Mkhitaryan said following the match.
