On the sidelines of the 129th assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan met with the President of Iran’s Majlis Ali Larijani.
Hovik Abrahamnyan and Ali Larijani stressed that the Armenian-Iranian relations are on a high level and continue to develop in an atmosphere of mutual trust.
The parties attached importance to the activity of the Deputy Friendship Groups, noting that the active contacts and interaction contribute to the deepening of inter-parliamentary ties.
The interlocutors stressed the necessity of further deepening of economic relations.
Touching upon regional issues, the heads of Armenian and Iranian Parliaments underlined that conflicts should be solved in a peaceful way through negotiations.
