James Warlick – the new US Co-Chair of OSCE Minsk Group
The US Secretary of State John Kerry assigned James Warlick as the next US Co-Chair of the
Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group.
James Warlick will assume his new position in September. The US Secretary of State said in particular: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of the Ambassador James Warlick as the next US Co-Chair of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Minsk Group. The Ambassador Warlick brings extensive experience in Europe and Eurasia to this position. He most recently served as the Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan and the lead negotiator for the Bilateral Security Agreement with Afghanistan. He served as the Ambassador to Bulgaria from 2009-2012, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of International Organization Affairs from 2006 to 2009, and the Director of the Office of European Security and Political Affairs from 2005 to 2006.
