Bako Sahakyan: Settlement impossible without Karabakh’s direct involvement

On 15 July President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan met in Yerevan with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara.

A number of issues related to the Karabakh conflict settlement and regional trends were discussed during the meeting.

President Sahakyan noted that official Stepanakert opted for peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.

He emphasized the necessity of restoring the negotiation format approved by the OSCE Budapest Summit, adding that it would be impossible to reach a comprehensive settlement of the conflict without NKR’s direct participation.

President Sahakyan said official Baku’s destructive policy is the most important hindrances on the way of solving the Karabakh conflict. He said it’s gradually becoming more dangerous and should receive corresponding reaction of the international community.

NKR Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk and other officials were present at the meeting, Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President reported.
