Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Dean Spielmann, President of the European Court of Human Rights.
Welcoming Mr. Spielmann’s visit to Armenia, the Prime Minister voiced hope that it would contribute to the further development of bilateral cooperation.
“We have implemented a number of legislative amendments, taking into consideration the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights. From this viewpoint, we attach great importance to the deepening of bilateral cooperation,” the Prime Minister said.
Dean Spielmann, in turn, attached importance to the development of dialogue with Armenia and voiced hope that it would rise to a new level during his tenure in office.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the creation of firm bases for the protection of human rights. Reference was made to the judiciary sphere and the cases pending in the European Court of Human Rights.
