TaTever – the longest ropeway in the world – shifts to summer schedule. In summer the ropeway will work from 10 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. every day except Mondays.
The air tram reduces the time of crossing the Vorotan gorge to reach from Halidzor to Tatev from 40 to 10 minutes. The ropeway is considered one of the safest means of transportation in the world.
The Tatev Gates tourism site will offer new services this year. These include parachuting, alpinism, bicycling and others. Hand-made works by residents of nearby villages will be sold in souvenir shops, Director of TaTever ropeway Vahan Melksetyan said.
The new website of TaTever will be launched in September, which will provide an opportunity to book tickets on-line.
The 100 thousandth visitor visited TaTever last year, this year the ropeway is preparing to welcome its 150 thousandth visitor.
All proceeds from the Tatev Gater resort will be allocated to the reconstruction of the medieval Tatev Monastery.
