“The Russian Federation is one of the largest producers and suppliers of weapons and sells arms to tens of countries. It’s simple business deriving from our economic interests,” Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordyuzha told reporters on the sidelines of the 2nd strategic forum on political and defense guidelines for formation of the military components of the CSTO.
The CSTO Secretary General underlined, that the sale of weapons to non-member states, namely Azerbaijan, aims to maintain the parity of forces in the region.
“This principle was taken into consideration when selling arm to your neighbor,” Nikolay Bordyuzha said.
