The newly elected Yerevan City Council held its first sitting today attended by 64 of its 65 members. Only Styopa Safaryan from “Hello Yerevan” bloc was absent.
According to the stature of the Yerevan City Council, the first sitting was chaired by its eldest ember Astghik Gevorgyan.
In his opening remarks, newly elected Mayor Taron Margaryan wished productive activity to the Council for the benefit of capital Yerevan and its residents.
“The programs are different, the objectives are common,” the Mayor said. Taron Margaryan once again expressed gratitude to all, who trusted and cast their voted for him.
“I assure I’ll justify the expectation of the residents of Yerevan,” the Mayor said. He promised that an atmosphere of trust, a new culture of governance and an effective activity of the City Hall would help us have a better, a more comfortable city.
