The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC)confirmed today the new gas and electricity tariffs. From July 7 the consumers will pay 156 AMD per 1 cubic meter of gas instead of the current 132 AMD. The price is lower than suggested by ArmRusGasProm.
The Russian gas will actually cost Armenia 270 drams, but 30% will be subsidized by the Government.
Also, the Commission decided to raise the electricity price from 30 to 38 drams. The new day-time electricity tariff will be 38 drams per 1kWh (including VAT) instead of the current 30 drams, and night-time tariff –28 drams (including VAT) instead of the current 25 drams.
Members of the “Let’s prevent the rise of gas price” initiative staged a protest in front of the building of the Public Services Regulatory Commission. The activists intend to continue the protest in front of the President’s Office.
