Armenian midfielder of FC Shakhtar Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been voted player of the season. Shakhtar fans had an opportunity to vote for the best player in 2012/13 season in an on-line voting on the club’s official website. The ultimate winner will be unveiled after sports journalists and Shakhtar veterans submit their votes.
2,409 Shakhtar fans took part in the poll. Douglas Costa finished fifth, receiving 55 (2,28%) votes. Taison is a bit ahead of his compatriot: 56 (2,32%) respondents picked the Pitmen’s newcomer. Darijo Srna took third place – 158 (6,56%) fans voted for the captain. Fernandinho claimed second spot with 158 (6,56%) votes.
An overwhelming win was clinched by Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Pitmen’s Armenian player was supported by a large number of the Internet audience – 1,519 (63,06%) fans.
