The second scientific tourism expedition will take place in Armenia June 8-18 at the initiative of the Armenian Institute of Tourism. The expedition will take a journey on train on Yerevan-Gyumri-Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Yerevan route. 130 people from Armenia and Russia will participate in the event.

Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly, President of the Women’s Council of Republican Party of Armenia Hermine Naghdalyan said it’s important for young people to get to know their Motherland. “The more you know about yourself, the easier it is to communicate with others,” she told reporters today, adding that it’s the main purpose of the program.

The newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynka expressed confidence that the initiative is yet another opportunity to boost the reinforcement of the Armenian-Russian relations.

According to the Ambassador, the high-level political dialogue and the collaboration between the legislative bodies of the two countries will further develop thanks to the cooperation between young people.  Ivan Volynka said he regrets he will not be able to participate in the forthcoming expedition, but promised to visit every corner of Armenia.

“I know Armenia is a wonderful country and has a rich culture,” the Ambassador said, adding that he will travel all through Armenia to familiarize himself with the culture and history.
