Kidnapped Syrian Armenian Hagop Mikaelyan released

Head of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Aleppo Office, writer, teacher Hagop Mikaelyan, 70, has been released, Beirut-based Radio Sevan reports (listen starting from the 7th minute).

Mikayelyan was set free at midday and is now at his home in Aleppo.

It was reported earlier that the Syrian Armenian intellectual had been kidnapped by Islamic extremist organization al-Nusra on his way from Aleppo to Beirut.
