Armenia to open Embassy in Sweden

The Republic of Armenia will open an Embassy in Sweden. The Government decided today to allocate $168 mln  to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for that purpose.

The opening of the Embassy will boost the development of Armenian-Swedish relations, including the trade and economic ties.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed decrees on the opening of the Embassies of the Republic of Armenia in Mexico, Sweden and Indonesia on April 17.

The diplomatic relations between Armenia and Sweden have intensified over the past 7-8 years. Sweden is the only Scandinavian county to recognize the Armenian Genocide on the parliamentary level.
