NKR President in Paris for a working visit

On April 25 President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan arrived in Paris for a working visit.

On the same day the President laid a wreath at Komitas statue located in the center of Paris, paying homage to the memory of 1915 Armenian Genocide victims.

The President was accompanied by NKR Minister of Foreign Affairs Karen Mirzoyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to France Vigen Chitechyan, head of the Central Information Department of the Artsakh Republic President’s Office David Babayan, NKR Permanent Representative to France Hovhannes Gevorgyan and other officials.

Bako Sahakyan met in Paris with representatives of the France-Artsakh friendship circle. The President expressed gratitude to the members of the structure for permanent support to Artsakh and creation of the friendship circle.

According to President Sahakyan, it’s an important political and humanitarian undertaking, which will give a new impetus to the expansion and deepening of ties between the two states and nations.

Within the framework of the visit to Paris, Bako Sahakyan had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to France Vigen Chitechyan.

A number of issues related to the strengthening of Motherland-Diaspora ties and fair representation of the Artsakh issue in France were discussed at the meeting.

President Bako Sahakyan underlined the significance of close cooperation between the diplomatic missions of the two Armenian states in those dimensions, considering it an important precondition for achieving desirable results.

The NKR President visited the residency of the French Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church and met with Primate Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan.

Issues related to the strengthening of the Motherland-Diaspora relations, as well as domestic and foreign policy issues of Artsakh were discussed.

Bako Sahakyan rated high the role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in maintaining the national identity in the Diaspora and cementing ties with the Motherland, Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President reported.
