Moscow sees no progress in the Karabakh settlement

Moscow sees no progress in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“There is no breakthrough,” Lavrov said at a joint press conference with visiting Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, RIA Novsti reports.

Minister Nalbandian agreed with Lavrov, but added he does not think the situation is deadlocked.

“A new meeting of the Foreign Ministers [of Armenia and Azerbaijan] will take place in Krakow in a few days,” Nalbandian said, not excluding the possibility of a meeting on the highest level.

“The process continues. It’s a different question that there is no progress because of the non-constructive position of one of the parties, which practically rejects any proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
