Tottenham have opened talks to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, reports Izvestia.
The Armenia international has been in scintillating form this season and has in turn seen some of Europe’s top clubs line up for his services.
According to Izvestia, Spurs have already established initial contacts with the Ukrainian club with a view of luring the attacking midfielder to White Hart Lane.
The 24-year-old has a contract until June 2015 at Shakhtar, so the summer transfer window could be the right time for the Ukrainians to cash in on their prized asset.
Despite not playing in attack, Mkhitaryan has been scoring goals for fun this season, netting 19 times in 20 league fixtures, while adding another 2 goals in 8 Champions League appearances.
