Olympic Champion, chief coach of the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team Levon Julfalakyan rules out the exclusion of wrestling from the list of Olympic disciplines.
According to Julfalakyan, the decision of the International Olympic Committee pursued different purposes. He said the role of the International Wrestling Federation has been generally negative over the past 10 years. All countries are complaining of both rules and refereeing.
Vice-President of the Armenian Wrestling Federation Samvel Gevorgyan said the coaches from the US and Iran have formed a coalition to protest this decision of the International Olympic Committee.
He believes all this is targeted against the International Olympic Committee and President of the International Wrestling Federation Rafael Martinet.
