International observers had never been so unanimous in their assessment of Armenian elections, Republican MP Gagik Minasyan told reporters today. “This is as important, as the assessment of Armenian citizens,” he added.

“It’s pleasant that the opinions of international observers and our citizens do not differ much,” Minasyan said.

“Those political forces, which did not participate in the elections, express their concern over the lack of competition. However, it’s obvious that there has been serious struggle, and the election has fully met international standards,” Gagik Minasyan said.

According to him, there are two options today. First, post-election developments proceed in a legal way; second, the post-election developments go beyond the legal framework. In case of the first scenario both the Republican Party and the Heritage will have a serious work to do. He believes that Raffi Hovhannisyan is farsighted enough to choose the first option.
