“Radiolur”
In 2006 expert of monuments Samvel Karapetyan prepared a 20-minute documentary about Jugha. The film presents the history of Jugha, and the destruction of its Armenian cemetery by the authorities of the Autonomous Region of Nakhijevan and Azerbaijan.
Samvel Karapetyan is the author of the scenario, the director of the film is Tigran Karapetyan, the author’s son. In 2007 the film won the President’s Prize.
The film is not only cultural, but also political, Samvel Karapetyan told reporters today. At the initiative of the Speaker of the National Assembly, the documentary was shown for the Council of Europe delegation. The latter approved the film and took it to Strasbourg. After watching the documentary MPs from different countries labeled Azerbaijan as “a barbaric country.”
