The Ministry of Economy is satisfied with the results of 2012. The number of tourists visiting Armenia exceeded 843 thousand, which means an 11.3% increase as compared to 2011. The growth has been registered against the background of 4% increase worldwide.
Deputy Minister of Economy Ara Petrosyan told reporters today that 2012 was remarkable for a number of serious meetings and discussions, which resulted in the conclusion of new agreements, under which several hotels will be built this year.
Spanish companies are most interested in investing in the field of tourism in Armenia. Citizens of Germany, France, Spain, Russia and Japan are the most frequent visitors to Armenia. Also, our country hosts many guests from Iran, Austria, Belgium and Latin America.
