Vardan Sedrakyan: The attack on Hayrikyan has changed the logic of the election campaign

“The assassination attempt on Paruyr Hayrikyan has changed the whole logic of the election campaign,” presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakyan told reporters. He does not share the opinion that the incident was a blow to Armenian statehood. The greatest blows to Armenian statehood were the events of March 1, 2008 and October 27, 1999.

According to Sedrakyan, the authorities would not benefit from the attack on Hayrikyan, other candidates could not have organized the attack, either. He does not rule out the involvement of outer forces, as Armenia is situated at the crossroads of big politics.

Vardan Sedrakyan said this incident will not give anything to any of the candidates. Instead, it has disturbed the plans of at least two candidates –Serzh Sargsyan and Andias Ghukasyan.
