7-10 days needed for Paruyr Hayrikyan’s full recovery

At least 7-10 days are need for the full recovery of Paruyr Hayrikyan, Deputy Director of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital Gagik Manukyan told reporters.

“Last night Paruyr Hayrikyan was accepted to hospital with a gunshot wound. He underwent a surgery at 10:30 a.m. this morning. The bullet was removed from his right clavicle,” the doctor said.

According to Gagik Manukyan, the surgery was successful, the patient’s state is satisfactory. Paruyr Hayrikyan will wake up in a few hours, he feels no pain, the blood pressure is normal.

The doctor said Mr. Hayrikyan will stay in the intensive care department for two or three days, after which he will be moved to the ward.

Armenian presidential candidate and leader of the National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot in central Yerevan shortly before midnight Friday.
