The military production enterprises may be reopened in Armenia, which will give a new impetus to the reinforcement of the country’s defense capacity and will promote the process of creation of new jobs. Some prerequisites have been created in this domain thanks to the efforts of the Interdepartmental Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The commission convened a sitting in Yerevan today.
Military-economic cooperation ensures the involvement of CSTO member states in world economy, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan declared. It can serve as an important lever to implement the defense policy and guarantee the national interest.
He attached importance to the establishment of a modern and effective military-economic and military-technical cooperation in the system of collective security.
