Armenian Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan handed Armenian passports to more than 30 Syrian Armenians at a ceremony hosted by the Armenian Embassy in Syria.
Congratulating the new citizens of Armenia, the Ambassador noted that “being a citizen of the Republic of Armenia is a great honor for every Armenian.”
“This is a historical and memorable event for the descendants of the Armenian Genocide survivors,” Mr. Poladyan said. He wished success and peace to the recipients of the Armenian passports, something the Syrian Armenian community needs so much today.
The process of granting RA citizenship continues; tens of other Syrian Armenians will get RA passports in the coming days.
