Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan held a traditional New Year reception for journalists today.
“The role of mass media has undergone great qualitative changes over the past years. The development of civil society is impossible without the participation of mass media,” the Prime Minister said.
“I think you’ll agree that the freedom of speech has reinforced in the Republic of Armenia over the past few years. At the same time, mass media face a different problem today. They must be able to give correct assessments and guide the public in this rapidly changing world,” Tigran Sargsyan added.
The Government keeps the acidity of mass media in the focus and often addresses the questions raised by journalists and searches for solutions, the Prime Minister noted.
PM Tigran Sargsyan handed awards and certificates of merit to a number of mass media representatives, including “Radiolur” correspondent Hasmik Dilanyan.
