Armenia ranks 38th among 177 countries, according to the Economic Freedom Index of the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal. Georgia (21st) is the leader among the countries of the region. Turkey is 68th, Azerbaijan is 88th, Armenian Prime Minister informed during the Government sitting today.

“The government worked hard in 2012 and achieved tangible results,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the year 2013 is not going to be easier.

Tigran Sargsyan noted that the improvement of the business environment in Armenia, the progress in the IT sector and the improvement of the country’s standing in the Economic Freedom Index  provide basis for optimism as regards the implementation of planned reforms in 2013.

The sitting adopted the plan of actions of the government in 2013 and determined the priorities of activity.
