Armenian Technological community honors the Best Startups of the year

The Association of Technology Start-ups of Armenia and the USAID Enterprise Development and Market Competitiveness Project (EDMC) announced the winners of the Armenian Technology Startups (ATS) 2012 awards on December 26. The award ceremony, which was attended by Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and representatives of local and international organizations, presented local start-up activities in 2012 and acknowledged the best Armenian technology start-up businesses in three categories, as follows:

1. Clean H2O – Best B2B (business to business) Solution

2. ZyabS – Best B2C (business to consumer) Solution

3. Ankashar.am – People’s Choice of the Year

The competition launched on December 17, with 20 contestants then pitching their ideas to the selection committee on December 22 at the Yerevan Expo Center. ATS 2012 is Armenia’s first dedicated event to reward excellence in the IT start-up community. The initiative seeks to boost start-ups in Armenia by bringing together participants of various contests and events held during the year as well as creating an opportunity to network with colleagues and potential investors.

ATS 2012 was supported by the Yerevan Expo Center, Microsoft Innovation Center, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Union of Information Technology Enterprises, mLAB and Deem Communications.
