Armenia, Switzerland interested in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the Swiss Secretary of State Yves Rossier.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian expressed satisfaction with the high-level political dialogue naturally developing during twenty years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Switzerland.

The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs added that the official visits of the Presidents of the two countries in March and May of 2011 following one another, the regular contacts between the Foreign Ministers and intensive parliamentary interaction have greatly contributed to the development of cooperation.

The Swiss Secretary of State Yves Rossier mentioned that his country attaches great importance to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Armenia which was the main purpose of his visit.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the expansion of bilateral interaction, and exchanged views on the ways of the development of cooperation between Armenia and Switzerland in the international organizations, activities of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Armenia and close cooperation in the sphere of trade and economy.

The sides touched upon a number of regional and international security issues, in the frames of which Minister Nalbandian presented in detail the Armenian side’s approaches on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and the recent developments in the negotiations.
