Gazprom insists on raising the price of gas for Armenia in 2013

Russian Gazprom Company insists on raising the price of the gas supplied to Armenia in 2013, Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan told reporters today.

According to him, negotiations still continue and the new gas price will be announced later in December.

Armenia currently imports gas at the price of $180 per 1,000 cubic meters, while Russia supplies gas to Europe and Ukraine at the cost of above $400. Moldova and Belarus pay $387 and $165 respectively.

Gazprom has already signed a deal with the Government of Belarus to raise the price to $185 in 2013.
