On 13 November President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan received the delegation of the Uruguayan Chamber of Representatives led its Chairman Jorge Orrico.
A wide scope of issues related to the development of bilateral relations was discussed during the meeting. According to Bako Sahakyan, Artsakh and friendly countries having much in common both in their history and state-building philosophy, which creates favorable conditions for developing mutual cooperation between the two countries.
President Bako Sahakyan rated high the contribution of Uruguay to the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, as well as its balanced policy on international recognition of the Artsakh Republic and the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
The parties stressed the importance of deepening relations between the two countries and the need for concrete steps in this direction.
NKR National Assembly Speaker Ashot Ghulyan,Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uruguay Vahagn Melikyan, National Assembly deputies from the Republic of Armenia, representatives of the Armenian National Committee of Uruguay and other officials partook at the meeting.
