ANCA-San Gabriel Valley to host talk on Syria crisis

The Armenian National Committee of America-San Gabriel Valley announced that Dr. Joseph Kechichian will make a presentation titled, “The Syrian Crisis and It’s Impact on the Armenian Community.”  The presentation will take place on Sunday, November 11 at the Tumanjan Hall of the Holy Cross Cathedral, Montebello, CA, Asbarez reports.

Kechichian, a renowned historian and political scientist, is an expert on the domestic and regional affairs of the Persian/Arabian Gulf Region. Having obtained a Ph.D in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia in 1985, he is an acclaimed scholar who has produced several books and publications around the issues of the Gulf region. Dr. Kechichian taught at the University of Virginia and was the Assistant Dean of the International Studies department until 1989. He was a senior Hoover Fellow at Stanford University, an Associate Political Scientist at the RAND Corporation in California, a Fellow at the Gustav E. von Grunebaum Center form Near Eastern Studies at UCLA, and a Fellow at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C. Kechichian is also the Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Los Angeles, CA.
