Magnitude 5.7 quake hits Iran, felt in Armenia

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was registered at 10.26 a.m. Yerevan time, press service of the Armenian National Survey for seismic Protection reports.

The epicenter of the quake was 28 km to the northwest of the city of Ahar,Iran. The hypocenter was at the depth of 10 km.

The earthquake measured 7-8 on the Richter Scale at the epicenter.

The shakes were felt in a number of settlements in Armenia, particularly the cities of Kajaran, Kapan, Goris, Jermuk and Ararat.
